Completely not book related, but hey...
...it's my blog and I'll post what I want to. :)
Writing a book is a lot like pregnancy and birth. You pour your heart and soul into its development, giving it everything you've got to make it the best it can be. Then, after months of intense prepping, heart-pounding anticipation, and painful labor, you deliver it to the world.
As I continue to celebrate the recent release of Equinox, I'm celebrating a different release at the same time. My husband and I are expecting our first child in June - on Friday the 13th - and I can't wait to deliver this very different, very special present to the world. It's been a long, difficult road to get here, we have no idea what we're about to experience - it's like an impending storm we've been told to prepare for but have no clue how or what to really expect. All I know is we're headed for one of life's great adventures, and I'm grateful and awed by the whole prospect.
Today is our baby shower, where we find out what we're having (snips and snails and puppy dog tails, or sugar and spice and everything nice?) with our dearest friends and family present, and I realize it's a new chapter in our lives - one I won't write, but one I will live.
Much love to you, world, on this Saturday morning.
(And don't worry - Supernova is still coming. Since it's half written and I'm about to have this amazing little bundle completely revolutionize my existence, I can't commit to a release date, but I promise you - it's coming.)
